The Freedom Foundation of Nova Scotia is a transition home for adult males recovering from the abuse of alcohol, drugs, and gambling

Early in 1988, The Freedom Foundation of Nova Scotia was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. A group of concerned citizens met to discuss ways to help the recovering alcoholic.

It was unanimously agreed to concentrate initial efforts towards satisfying an urgent need to establish a transition home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to aid alcoholics who demonstrate a desire and effort towards recovery. This home is known as The Freedom Foundation - Chapter 1.
